The assistance you need.
The independence you desire.

Our History

Via Christe Assisted Living Community opened in October of 2005 after a group of Omaha investors wanted to provide housing services for seniors in one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. The building acquired was the former Foxley Building which was built in 1962 as part of Duchesne College. This 41,150 square foot, four level building was completely renovated into assisted living apartments and memory care apartments. We are nestled in the historic cathedral neighborhood. Via Christe is an assisted living community like no other. We are committed to creating a warm, friendly atmosphere that you will feel the moment you walk through the door.

Please come and visit Via Christe and see for yourself why this special place was created. We work with a variety of funding sources to assure quality care is provided to our seniors.

Welcome

Nestled in the historic Cathedral neighborhood, Via Christe is an assisted living community like no other in the Omaha area. Via Christe has a highly trained professional staff committed to creating a warm and friendly environment you will be proud to call home. Residents at Via Christe are given the best care available, while still providing as much independence as possible.

Locally owned and operated, Via Christe offers a unique family-style atmosphere that is designed to change along with our residents’ needs, embracing Christian values, healthcare, safety and nutrition.

Via Christe offers two separate Memory Care floors dedicated to providing a safe and secured environment for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other related dementias. Our specialized staff will assist families and physicians in developing a personalized care plan based on the needs of our resident.

We welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our family and take you on a tour so you can see why Via Christe is an “exceptional place to live”!

Community

Via Christe, which is Latin for “Way of Christ”, has been a part of the Joslyn Castle Neighborhood for over one hundred years. It began as the College of Duchesne, then became a business college. In 2003 it was turned into an assisted living and memory care community. Locally owned, it is our mission to provide the best care to the residents that reside at our community. Via Christe is one of the only facilities in Omaha that provides daily mass for  residents and their families. We like to think of our campus as multi-generational. With a close connection to Duchesne High School and St Cecilia Preschool, we often hold activities in which all generations can participate.

Home Sweet Home

At Via Christe, we want our residents to feel right at home. In many ways it will be better than home. We offer many services to enhance residents lives and want them to enjoy life, not worry about life.
